SEEN & UNSEEN
Upmarket Dystopian
Seen & Unseen blends the intricate world building and character focus of The Fifth Season with the tension of Blood Over Bright Haven, where the price for security in this utopian post-apocalyptic society is lies and secrets. Forced to cooperate with the Academies (who would see them destroyed if anyone knew the truth of their forbidden, unregistered power), Sen and Kami must complete a mysterious mission and evade capture if they’re going to save themselves. And when long-buried family secrets surface, Sen will have to choose between the world he’s created here, or the world he was meant to inherit all along.
WHEN STARS DISAPPEAR
Upmarket Speculative Fiction
When Stars Disappear is for adults who enjoy a little bit of magic within a grounded story about love, loss, and later-in-life coming of age. Addie La Rue x What Alice Forgot, if they were queer, had powers, and owned a bookshop and bakery in upstate NY. Bea awakens from a mysterious coma with no memory of who she is, but a toxic relationship with a local art gallery owner leads her to discover the horror at the heart of the strange phenomena. She must confront the grief, obsession, and strange magic connecting them before someone she loves loses their mind, too.
WRITING SAMPLES
SEEN & UNSEEN
In a world where magic is carefully monitored, Sen and Kami have built a quiet life on the outskirts of the Academies’ reach. Sen once upheld the organization that regulates all magic (anima), until he walked away for his family. They’re hiding a dangerous secret: they’re unregistered Manifolds, born with multiple kinds of anima, a crime punishable by imprisonment or death.
When an Academy inspector arrives in their small town, their carefully built life begins to unravel. To protect his pregnant wife and their young daughter, Sen agrees to one final Assignment for the government, while Kami fights to keep her family safe from the shadows closing in. But the more they uncover about the Academies, and the true power buried in their bloodlines, the clearer it becomes that survival will cost them more than secrecy.
Told through two intertwining perspectives—one shaped by duty, the other by defiance—SEEN & UNSEEN is a story of love and resistance in a society that fears difference. As Sen and Kami fight to reclaim their agency, they’ll be forced to confront the question that has haunted them both: how far are they willing to go to protect the ones they love in a world that would see them destroyed?
