I was scrolling Tiktok yesterday, and a writer popped up on my FYP asking about beta reading. It got me thinking back to the first couple manuscripts I beta read, and how completely lost I felt, even though I’d taken creative writing classes and knew how to provide feedback to writers.

Back in the trenches! I’m querying SU even though it doesn’t quite fit neatly into any category because I can’t not query it.

Everything I write is within the larger speculative fiction umbrella, namely fantasy. But from there it gets… complicated.

I may be querying an entirely different project, come the new year… My science fantasy manuscript is ready for its chance.

Ever since Chat GPT became so widely available and widely used, it seems the writing/bookish community has been actively considering and debating the implications such a tool might have on the future of the entire publishing industry.

I may have a Taurus-heavy chart, but patience has never been one of my strongest personal qualities. Hard-working, persistent, reliable? Sure. But patient? Absolutely not.
