I submitted to #RevPit 2025! It’s my first time entering a contest like this one, so I’m both super excited and super nervous.

Back in the trenches! I’m querying SU even though it doesn’t quite fit neatly into any category because I can’t not query it.

I had my worst writer’s nightmare come true in November: I lost all my work from the past 6 months.

Everything I write is within the larger speculative fiction umbrella, namely fantasy. But from there it gets… complicated.

I may be querying an entirely different project, come the new year… My science fantasy manuscript is ready for its chance.

NotebookLM by Google is a research tool, but it can also turn your content into a podcast-style discussion between two people (AI), which is what I decided to do with the first 3 chapters of my manuscript.

While writing is primarily a solitary endeavor, preparing work for publication is not.

I’ll still continue to provide general topic posts for people to enjoy, but I want the flexibility to write about whatever I’m thinking about or working on at the moment, rather than feeling like I have to stick to the rigid structure I set up for this past year…

It’s been a while, so let’s check in and get up to speed on where we’re at.

R&R update, querying, and reflections on the revision process for WSD.

We’ve got some possible news on the querying front!

Instead of approaching it as a broad idea like “identity,” it helps when I ask a specific question and use the story to explore more. I’ll expand on this, using my own manuscript as the example.

I may have a Taurus-heavy chart, but patience has never been one of my strongest personal qualities. Hard-working, persistent, reliable? Sure. But patient? Absolutely not.

The list is getting shorter, but I got another request!

It’s been a month since the last official update, and there have been some changes!

I’m very much a “manage my expectations” kind of person, but I’m finding myself wanting to let go of it in this instance.

So many projects, so little time! What does my work look like right now, and what am I doing to manage it all?

4 requests, 17 rejections, and 14 outstanding… I don’t plan to send any more queries at this point, so here’s to hoping!

It doesn’t look quite like last year, where I literally wrote one novel manuscript after another, drafting constantly even while I was editing and revising the ones I’d already finished. It’s more of a mixed bag right now, and I feel good about that.

3 requests and 13 rejections… I’m happy with those numbers! I’d like to see more requests, obviously, but I’m also not going to complain.
