Writing Update: We’re Back!
A couple nights ago, as I was brushing my teeth and staring it a blindingly bright full moon through the windows above the tub, a feeling came over me that I can only describe as divine. I literally stopped what I was doing to stare. To listen.
Writing Update: Dipping My Toes In Again (Querying)
Aside from one small batch of queries earlier this year, I haven’t queried in 2025. But it’s time to dip my toes in again… Hopefully I find the right agent this go around! And in the meantime, I’m back to work on other projects.
New WIP: ECHO
Inspired by my daughter’s idea, combined with tales surrounding Lake Lanier and other well-known tragic locations, ECHO is a look at our dark history and the ways our past can come back to haunt us if we refuse to face it.
Writing Update: One Goal Reached!
We did it! Seen & Unseen is now under 100k words and ready to be sent off for what will hopefully be the final manuscript critique before potentially querying it.
Writing Update: Not Quite 100k
I did a major trim-down on Seen & Unseen in preparation for sending it off to an amazing editor. We’re so close!
Writing Update: #RevPit 2025 Open For Submissions
I submitted to #RevPit 2025! It’s my first time entering a contest like this one, so I’m both super excited and super nervous.
Writing Update: My Hard Drive Died
I had my worst writer’s nightmare come true in November: I lost all my work from the past 6 months.
Writing Update: Getting Feedback
While writing is primarily a solitary endeavor, preparing work for publication is not.
Changes to the Blog
I’ll still continue to provide general topic posts for people to enjoy, but I want the flexibility to write about whatever I’m thinking about or working on at the moment, rather than feeling like I have to stick to the rigid structure I set up for this past year…
Writing Update: Querying #10
It’s been a while, so let’s check in and get up to speed on where we’re at.
Writing Update: Check-in and R&R Reflections
R&R update, querying, and reflections on the revision process for WSD.
Writing Update: Querying #7
It’s been a month since the last official update, and there have been some changes!
Writing Update: April 2024 Works In Progress
So many projects, so little time! What does my work look like right now, and what am I doing to manage it all?
Writing Update: Querying #6
4 requests, 17 rejections, and 14 outstanding… I don’t plan to send any more queries at this point, so here’s to hoping!
Writing Update: New WIP (+ more query responses)
It doesn’t look quite like last year, where I literally wrote one novel manuscript after another, drafting constantly even while I was editing and revising the ones I’d already finished. It’s more of a mixed bag right now, and I feel good about that.
Writing Update: Querying #5
3 requests and 13 rejections… I’m happy with those numbers! I’d like to see more requests, obviously, but I’m also not going to complain.
